If you’re in BV, sometimes Corporate can look like greener grass. Maybe it has to you? But what if you could hear from someone who’s been there and wants to return? What would he tell you?
As people do, Tim (not his real name, of course) was in the frame of mind to leave where he was, and Corporate looked like a right-place-at-the-right-time move. He went from a small company to a huge, publicly traded one.
Tim would tell you that when you are in professional services, you are the value. When you’re in Corporate, you’re a peg they want to plug into a particular hole. Only in the professional services environment can you learn and grow.
This doesn’t mean that you won’t make the move to Corporate. It does mean that you’ll make it with your eyes open.
